Lie on your back on the ground within your area of meditation in a relaxed position – legs and arms stretched out in a comfortable position for you. You will stretch your body from head to toe up.
Note about relaxationIt is important not to confuse relaxation techniques with meditation practice. Essentially, they complement each other but you cannot meditate well without the body is completely relaxed, because the attention is distracted for the areas of tension. Likewise, relaxation is more beneficial through focused attention. The liquid scintillatingIt is not only an excellent exercise to remove accumulated tension in the muscles of the body, but also good for preparing for sleep – indeed, it is often difficult to stay awake during this process. It is better to lie down and take one or two minutes of slow deep breathing. Start by focusing on your toes, feel them physically, then relaxing them completely. Imagine the enzymes responsible for maintaining the rigidity of the muscles to dissolve through the pores. Mentally, feel your feet, ankles, and calves and so on up until the top. Take the time you need and move slowly and deliberately. When you reach the top of the head you must be very relaxed. The shining star This exercise is good for relaxation from the stress of inner turmoil, or a troubled mind. Again, any comfortable position serves – especially sitting. Be still, breathing deeply several times. Then visualize a white light, bright, 30 cm above your head, like a tiny star, which is yours. Let your body, your mind and spirit, all which is positive and negative in your head, to absorb the energy of the light and become still like light itself. This should make you feel relaxed, positive and peaceful. That is what we want to achieve when we are learning how to meditate properly.
